Curious as to what the typical speeds are for the PT? Being all back roads Im guessing 45-60? Any places to open up or cruise? I'm sure there are short bust here an there but inquiring about long stretches.

Yea often times if you want any time at the event, you have to do ~75+mph and leave at a decent time to get there.

I wish my car would be done in time for One Lap of America...There are several events I hope to hit in my car someday; Power Tour (Long Haul), One Lap of America, Drag Week, Cruising the Coast and Run Through The Hills...

      Someday...

No freaking Shade! It's fine for the race track but as far as a hang out goes, the blacktop is brutal in the fine midwest heat.

      Not sure which car yet.

Newbie question. So for booking the hotels, I should check in at the dates/locations shown and check out the following day to drive to the next venue?

The Power Tour takes a MINIMUM of 8-10 LONG days to run the long haul on the Power Tour and the Power Tour is only 7 days and 6 stops. Don't forget you gotta get there and then get home!

The Tire Rack one lap this long would take a good 16-20 days to do the whole thing. Not real feasible for many people in this day and time to run the whole thing. Great spectator event if you want to hit the race track close to you to see the cars.

      Tu-

I'm not going this year but every year I've gone they had a hotel site that you went to and picked youre hotel for each night. Made it fast and super easy. I suggest doing that.

I was a long hauler in 2004, a great experience!

This year it just so happens to end in my back yard! I pass Lamar Dixon every day on my way to work.

Southern Louisiana food is reason alone to go on this tour! hehe!

Can't wait, this year will be awesome. It's all about new/old friends, cars and driving............the venues are important but not everything. We have groups leaving from both Calgary and Toronto if anyone is interested in joining us.

Here is the email received yesterday.

      Dear Registered Participant,

First and foremost, THANK YOU all for your patience in regards to Hot Rod Power Tour’s Stop #6 on June 11th. We are pleased to inform you that the tour will be at Centennial Plaza in Gulfport, MS, on that day. Quite a few of you did surmise it would be in that neck of the woods. Good guessing!

Route/Driving Directions – we’ve had a few emails regarding where someone can find the HRPT route. We will post the actual driving directions in the Hot Rod Power Tour section of hotrod.com about a month before the event. Printed copies will also be available at credential pick up and at the main stage each day.

Again, thank you so much for your patience while we finalized Stop #6!

Yup, absolutely. I took my 2012 F150 during 2012 tour, since I was picking up a 68 Mustang on the way back. I saw everything on 4 wheels, including Huyndai's, Honda's, and a blacked out Prius.
