Looking at the Level 2 Ride Tech kit

I am about to pull the trigger on the level 2 ride tech kit for my 91' Foxbody mustang.

      http://www.ridetech.com/store/1979-1...g-level-2.html

I can't seem to find anybody who has ran this kit.

I've found multiple people with level 1 kits, but I am running tubular Arms up front and do not have spring cups anymore, Plus the ride is Sooo much better with the suspension on the strut.

If anybody has any info on this kit lmk!

      Thanks,
      Gino

      Hey Gino,

The kit was actually designed on my car (completely stock throughout the design process). The struts and rear kit are a direct bolt on for these cars, minus the slight trimming on the rear for clearance on the airbag. I don't see an issue at all with running the tubular arms up front, I'm putting a tubular K member on mine this year as well for some weight savings. As long as it's all factory dimensions/mounting, you won't have any problems. Here are some pictures of the Shockwaves on my car.

The bolt on bracket for the rear is a little different now, but falls right into place on the factory rear end housing.

Cool, I actually spoke with Ryan today. I am placing the order with CJ pony parts. He said you guys won't have the kit ready till early march.

How do you like the handling characteristics?

I'm assuming you are running the digital setup since you work there...LOL

I decided to go with tubular arms when I purchased my K-member for my coyote motor swap. Otherwise I probably would have just ordered the cool ride bag kit...

Hey Josh, will this setup still work if I decide to convert to IRS later?

The car handles and rides very nice! I went from lowering springs and stock struts/shocks to the coilover setup, it's a dramatic change in the car, all around. The handling is night and day difference, the ride quality is very nice, and all with about a 2" drop compared to factory height. Since I'm on coilovers, I have no compressor system at this time (when we did the testing of the air suspension, it did have an Airpod hooked up to it). If I do switch over to air, it will have the digital system. It's alot more compact, looks nicer, and makes the adjustability much more user friendly.

Depending on how much the shockwave length changes, that may need to be modified or set up with a different stroke shock. You're not using the stock rear mounts, correct? I think I remember that from our conversation on the phone...

We'll end up taking some measurements from you and then building you the correct stroke shockwave for the SRA, as it is. After you switch to IRS, we can take some more measurements and see if anything needs to be changed. The mounts on the independent rear will take some modifying, more than likely, especially fitting it up on a fox (but it's doable ). As far as the rest of the system working, once you do the IRS, the compressor system and front struts will be just fine!

Yeah, the IRS looks like it will be a nightmare with shortening the rear half shafts and brackets. Might just stick to live axle...

IRS is definitely going to be a challenge, it's been done...but with Shockwaves on a fox, you'll have some work to do.
