      Dimmer Switch starter Button

Hey All, I was tossing around the idea of making the original dimmer switch in my 68 camaro act like a push button start. i woul dstill like to turn the key to the on position then push the dimmer switch. my dads 55 chevy pickup had the starter on the floor as a kid and i loved that. has any one done this in there car?

You would have to use a momentary switch for start. The lo/hi switch is not momentary.

I've see people use the floor switch for a kill switch.. Where the car won't start unless the hit the switch...

that was my first thought, the type of switch. And if you found a MO switch to mount there I'd be worried about hitting it accidentally with my foot or something.
