      Fox shocks

They seem to be the top dog now so to speak and come in different flavors.
not sure how new if any the Ride tech shocks are
but their Q series are by Fox.

Hotchkis just released their new 1.5 sps shocks which are also by Fox.

I doubt anyone has the Hotchkis version, but does anyone have the ridetech Q series shocks

either way, basing off the hotchkis shock dyno vid, both will/should out perform the hp1000 bisteins and the edelbrock IAS shocks

The Fox 1.5's Tunes by Hotchkis have been on the road for over a year. I have tested them on several platforms and they are fantastic. The amount of tuning an development that goes into them is top rate, as shown in the video. Hotchkis has spent o a lot of time dialing in the perfect codex that is specific to each vehicle make and model. The Single Adustable will be available soon and were debuted at SEMA. I'll be testing a set of them this weekend at an SCCA event.

anyway you can test the ridetech Q-series shocks? RQ compared to the Hotchkis 1.5s? and the HQ to the single adjustables?

I don't think it is any big secret that Fox supplies some of the components for both the ridetech shocks and the Hotchkis units. The difference between the two is the respective calibration of the valve codes. While a simple dyno comparison might show some difference between our calibration and the Hotchkis, I'm not sure a "winner" could be determined. Ride quality is very much a subjective opinion, and is further influenced by tires, springs, and other suspension components and calibration. Handling performance, while capable of being objectively measured, is also greatly influenced by those same considerations. I wish determining the "best" shock were a simple matter of a dyno test, but unlike an engine dyno test, ride quality and handling cannot be quantified on a dyno. It takes place on the street and on the track. IF there were truly a "best" valve code calibration, everyone would already be using it.

The "best" shock for your application will be determined by the following:

      1. tech assistance in selecting the correct component or combination of components
      2. durability, reliability, and repeatability of the components
      2. availability of those components
      3. price

Having said all that, if someone here who has a shock dyno wants to do an independant side by side comparison, we will gladly participate. Or we could do it here...we do have our own shock dyno [and know how to use it] as well as the ability and knowledge to custom calibrate for any unusual applications or driving/racing characteristics...on site, while you wait.
