I was reading the last couple of Popular Hot Rodding Magazines and saw the blurb about Pro-touring guys meeting at the Lumber Company at Vegas..most of those cars exhibited belonged to Ron Pratt (whom I've mentioned in here previously) He does a lot for this sport and doesn't seek publicity and personal recognition for what he does. He's involved with nearly every charity project that comes thru Barrett Jackson..He'll buy the car, then turn around and give it back to sell again. Very generous individual..plus he's breast fed Boyd Coddington for the last two years by buying numerous of his finished pieces, in addition to having Boyd build him new stuff. You don't see him wanting all the media coverage the other big spenders seek, and out spends them all. maybe we can get him to show us his stuff next year in Vegas. I'm sure he would welcome us in his museum.

He gave Boyd the money to build the car initially..donated it to the Charity..I don't know if he bought it under the hammer, but he paid Boyd to build it for the Charity for sure and the Charity got to keep the proceeds..

I didn't talk to Ron about it personally but a mutual friend said he didn't feel like the proper care was taken and that several things had happened to the cars..That's a shame because these guys like Milton Robson, and Pratt open up their collections to the public and for some Dumb as* to put his hands all over the cars and open and shut doors is inexcusable. You just need to go up to his wife and feel her off..same thing in my book.

spendin money again...new Rockland Gear built trans and rear are in, new Centerforce dual disc LM series aluminum flywheel, alum pressure plate and dual clutch discs are in..going to put Holley's NOS Nitrous system on it.. staged system that we can bring on gradually...decided on it instead of Barry Grant's stuff..they wanted me to leave the tanks yellow so everyone would know it was their's..not hardly gonna do that..now if they'd give me a **** tail to put on my aerial..got the A arms all polished..was gonna annodize them but since they were forged, they said they might be blotchy..we just decided to satin finish them and seal them...computer stuff is installed..ran a million miles of wires in that thing..some extra wiring for ABS and TRACTION CONTROL. Going to carry it up to
Decatur Ala, to get those guys to dyno it.. Hurry up and get started on that Camaro..someone else needs to start paying for that big new house overlooking that river that Alan has built..first met him he was living in a single wide..now he has a mansion..I'm going to have to take a hand me down trailer from The Real..my finances are getting tight

Vegas, do all the necessary safety stuff to enable us to run at maxton, and be there Friday night..that's pushing it man..Kirkey racing seat..bolt in main hoop..secure all glass in the car..2nd fire system..chute..etc etc. everyone thinks I'm crazy to run it like that..but then I was crazy before this

Year one wants to take it on their truck..I'd like to get dropped off in Phoenix and ride up with the group that goes up from Phoenix to Vegas..get a couple of those 426 elephants and suck the front end off them when I come by..Those stock hemis are an absolute pig..never had one outrun me in my life..Talked to Sandy and Pat @ Year One..they said they would rush back and be at Alan's Tuesday night..they have 2 drivers in their truck..we've got to get everything done to the car for Maxton and be over there Friday afternoon..it's pushing it..gonna see how it goes..

we fully plan to be at Maxton April 1.. right after SEMA, Freiburger told Hunkins the Cuda would never see 200MPH..I told Hunkins it absolutely would see 200..in fact, I said I think it will run 200 at Maxton..So Hunkins bets Freiburger that it will run 200 at it's debut at Maxton. I told Hunkey..wait a minute..that's not so easy..Rabbit went all last season without quite making it. It takes some setting up..that's not the best surface for acceleration and smooth sailing. I guess we'll have to bust our as*es to keep the Hunkey man from losing his Benjamin.. Car will not even have any time on it..keep your fingers crossed. 7,000 RPM in 5th is 205 MPH with no allowance for tire spin. We can turn it over 8,000 so we should be able to make it in 5th. I would like to be at Mopars at the strip the week before..lots to do...

I just got back from Alans..went to get the Kirkey Racing Seat put in the car. Needed me to measure everything..really I think he brought me over so he could siphon some money out of me. I told him we've got to stop meeting like this..Pretty wild when you have to get a disclaimer on your posts. Ol man needs to calm down a notch or two or three or....I absolutely bring the worst out in his guys. At Vegas they all got rip roaring drunk..except Alan..but including Angie...we won't go into going to sleep in the Bamboo in front of the Mirage, spreading DNA all over the side of Doug's rent a car, etc. We went out Friday night and had chicken wings and beer...I guess when I'm buying, they forget their limits...At 11.30 Central time..12:30 my time, they wanted to go to another bar that had a wet T shirt contest..Oh yeah, I forgot..a guy comes up to me and wants my autograph..I thought one of Alan's crew had put him up to it. I laughed and gave him some sh*t..He said I admire your cars and love you on the Barrett Jackson Show...You know you're in a hick town when someone asks for my autograph. He had pen and paper and all.

I just got back from Alans..went to get the Kirkey Racing Seat put in the car. Needed me to measure everything..really I think he brought me over so he could siphon some money out of me. At Vegas they all got rip roaring drunk..except Alan..but including Angie...we won't go into going to sleep in the Bamboo in front of the Mirage, spreading DNA all over the side of Doug's rent a car, etc. We went out Friday night and had chicken wings and beer...I guess when I'm buying, they forget their limits...At 11.30 Central time..12:30 my time, they wanted to go to another bar that had a wet T shirt contest..Oh yeah, I forgot..a guy comes up to me and wants my autograph..I thought one of Alan's crew had put him up to it. Best food in the world in New York..I cannot believe it everytime I go there..Atlanta just doesn't have the ethnic base that have passed down their skills from generation to generation. The Pizza is out of this world...Deli's are outstanding..Chinatown is as good or better than Frisco..

The airstation was at Floyd Bennett Field (last left before the bridge to Breezy on Flatbush) and they were the closest place that would deliver to us. Not the best, but pretty dang good pie.

Alan built this car much faster than he would have normally taken. We didn't get the engine from Indy Cylinder Head until the PRI show in DEC 04. Chrysler had committed to furnishing us with a 410 Aluminum Outlaw Sprint type motor.. Similar to the Nascar motor but more inches and built power at lower RPM. They never came thru wasting about a year of our time. We got a committment out of Indy at the Dec 2003 PRI show, and it took a year to get the motor finished and to us. It was originally going to be a AAR Trans Am Type Cuda with a 410 Small Block and we decided to do a Hemi and got a motor from Indy and made a Hemi Cuda instead. So basically we didn't even start on the project until Feb of 2005. Alan shut his shop down except for a 32 steel roadster he finished and a 39 Chevy he built for Vernon Walker, a little work on Ron Winters 32 3 window, and bits and pieces of a few other cars. Poor old Doug Cooper's 32 B400 got put on hold/thanks to his generous approval/Bill Roberts 32 Vicky thanks to him too and a few other cars that got put on hold because they wanted to see Alan and I get the car done..good friends and I appreciate it. . His crew worked about 75 or more hours /7 days a week for several months. This car would normally take 2 to 3 years in a normal pace but we had committed to have it at SEMA in 2005 not knowing we wouldn't get the motor until Dec. 2004. It wasn't Indy's fault, it just took that long to get the whole deal worked out. It took about this long to do the Camaro/longer to do the 56 truck/a little longer to do the Blazer truck/ and a whole lot longer to do the Woodie..but I had Alan working on three cars at one time..and my wallet was blurting uncle constantly..I had to surrender on a few occasions..put a whoopin on my cashflow..Asian community went into recession..Buddah Bob was missing..and out of action..

it's a Sony set up..they were a full sponsor..I wasn't looking to put a big system in it like in the Woodie since the exhaust note is going to be rather abusive, plus it just isn't the kind of car that needs some big stereo and the weight that accompanies it. I like Earth Wind and Fire/Ojays/Brothers Johnson(no relation but probably some relation to The Real) James Brown/Allman Bros/Donna Summers and lots of the Disco Stuff..70's and 80's stuff..some 60's and a smattering of 50's. Not big on most of the heavy metal..do like some of Snoop Dog and a few other Rap songs but most of it annoys me...

We just started on the car the 2nd week of January, Still waiting on some odd and end parts and needing badly to catch up on some of the projects left untouched for three months to make SEMA. Also we really wanted to get back to a normal 60 hour work week. Those 100 to 120 hour weeks get rough after 13 of them back to back.

It is a 350 shot but will be regulated by a NOS controller, brings it in gradually and is adjustable on the total amount without jet changes. I hope we don't need it, it's just in case the 870 hp isn't enough. Thanks

We talked to the people that run the Silver State..They let Baer Brakes set the rules for the 0-200-0 They allow turbos/blowers/superchargers but no nitrous..Super bad disadvantage for normally aspirated cars..especially a pump gas motor like mine..only 11.5 to 1...at 6500 ft..and about 7400 plus ft. corrected..that kills your power...the turbo/blower buys can just raise the boost to help compensate..We'd have to build a 15 to 1 motor..We need to campaign Baer Brakes to allow nitrous.. only on the normally aspirated cars..only fair..level the playing field..I'm sure big Red has a big compression motor in it anyway..not a street driven car..335x30x18 on the front w/o power steering..Goldberg would have a hard time..They are going to run a 0-100-0 in may and a 0- 200 but not back to 0..just acceleration..not braking..the 0-200-0 will be in Sept.

As far as Michael and William I used to question their eating habits until they got bigger than me at only 16 years of age 6'1" 200lbs. And you don't have to worry about someone spilling a full glass of water on your cell phone at BK. they don't serve water with breakfeast!

We went straight down under full throttle into a heavy forest..luckly for me (unluckily for everyone else except Alan maybe) we hit a Poplar tree with the prop dead center..it broke some of the fall and hung up on other limbs on the way down..4 or 5 limbs went completely thru the cockpit impaling the instructor thru his thigh. Busted my bald head open and I was bleeding like a stuck pig. We were 1/2 of the way upside down pointing straight down with the nose about 6" in the ground..I had blood spurting out of my head everytime my heart beat which was pretty fast about then. I got out pretty quickly..getting him out was no easy chore..skinny little bas*ard got pretty heavy after carrying him for 300 or so yards out of the woods..I've crashed and been in crashes several times before..Unfortunately time wise, when they test you it is not under real crash circumstances..

these saftey rules are good , i had a 500 ci blown 41 willys that made a 75 mph to 0 unfortunate stop at a electric pole in the rh door ,after we came to 25 ft from the car face down, i wished i would have had seatbelts .now i look at safty rules a little different . i also had a 72 camino that went 8.89 at the 1320 mark the chassis shop that built the car forgot to weld the spline insert into the steering collum . thank god the car atleast stoped straight , no damage except to the seat of my pants !

here is a flying story , the same guy who was in the willys crash with me told me .
he bought a single engine plane in south arkansas and was flying it home when the engine quit, he looked around and decided to put it down in a field he saw . the only open field in sight , he was gliding along droping fast when he saw a ditch was plowed in the field in his way . the plane flipped and he was hanging upside down in his seat belts . he cut the belts , droped out and crawled out . he was standing out side the plane thinking wow not a scratch on me . then out the corner of his eyes he see's a bull charging the plane , so he ran to the fence and tried to jump the fence and got cought in the fence and cut himself from on end to the other on the barb wire . it was a retired rodeo bull ! not as funny when i tell it as when he tells it .

They are good but the amount of things we have to do to this car just to get a few runs in is expensive. You can't just throw this stuff in like you could on a race car. Securing the glass, another fire system etc..you have to make everything beautiful like the rest of the car. Lots more time consuming when you've got to make it real pretty.

If I would have known how much I was going to have in this car and how nice it was going to be I probably wouldn't have run my mouth about driving it this hard. Driving it like Trepanier drives his is one thing but hammering it is another thing entirely. I'll bet Troy spent several thousand dollars on Chicayne when he came back from the Power Tour in 2003 and I never saw him hammer it either. I didn't hurt the Battle Axe but I know he had some damage. Those roads were terrible, and it rained constantly..Lots of cars sustained damage. We had our Chassis set up correctly and had the exhaust, engine, trans, etc up higher than the rails so I didn't hurt anything when we bottomed out on some great big bumps.

Just think if Jon would have had a big RC Cola and a Moon Pie like he has in Dawsonville every morning when he comes over here and spilled the RC on your phone. No it won't be at Indy but the Cuda will and I will tag along in some "dated" hot rod.

Maybe a Goodguys event alittle later in the year??

The pit boss at the Mirage was getting peeode at us because our table was winning big and we were all raising sand. He looked at me and told me I was going to have to hold it down..I told him he better be nice to me.. at the rate I was going I was going to own that place and he was going to be out of a job if he didn't loosen up. a few comments to his bull dyke assistant didn't go over too big either.

Ol country boy was doing his best trying to fit in. He came by to see me the other day. We're supposed to go to Young's Performance this Thursday morning to dyno the Cuda..try to get a camera with some sound so ya'll can sport some wood..hope it sounds as good as that ol black Prodigy..Howell they are in Decatur Alabama..not far from you..bring some of that Tennessee Water over here and see if it'll make more power. Thinking about putting water/methanol injection on it just to cool everything down and keep the combustion chambers clean. 11.5 to 1 Hemi is probably going to rattle..big bore and the domes on those hemi pistons aren't as effecient as a LS1..
