Here I am judging a book by its cover (trailer)..... I'm certainly not innocence when it comes to driving like a idiot on the street but, street racing and the other crap that comes along with it is just absolutely pathetic. anyone who supports this needs to have they're head checked. It's those type of people who give this hobby a bad name, raise insurance rates, cause harassment from police etc...isn't part of pro-touring about making cars safer ?. when you consider the improvements that some people put into their cars, ..roll cages..seat belts... much larger brakes...up graded steering...etc etc etc.wise up people use our heads to promote a safe fun hobby...not some Vin diesel style street terror sh#t.

But where is the street racing?

Its very clear the racing part of the occurs near on a "closed course" of some kind with ample lights and parking.

Just more trash talking J**koffs to make enjoying our cars without getting hassled by the cops that much harder. EPIC fail once again for the Discovery channel, quick ratings over quality shows...

The idea of a street racing show could be cool if done right. This show comes off a bit immature, especially with all the lame lingo taken straight from a need for speed video game. And all the fake drama is really hard to watch. Also the way everyone knows each other and its just a group of only ten guys racing is a bit fishy and too easy for a reality show to manipulate.

The idea of the show is stupid and everyone who takes it for real should be insulted because Cleary someone thinks your stupid enough to believe it for real life, a few years ago A&E ( I believe) did a documentary on the street racing scene in Toronto watch that if you want real life

Wow I cant believe what im reading...I built 3 of the cars on this show...and I can tell you its not fake! These guys been doing this for years you can see it all over youtube just type in BigRob3232...as far as ruining your hobby. Gimmie a damn brake street racing is as old as the automobile itself! Ive been driving muscle cars and hotrods my whole life and have never experienced cops harassing me or profiling me because of the car im driving, hell they are usually giving me a thumbs up! Do you guys mix up a big cup of Haterade everytime a new car movie like Gone in 60 seconds or 2 lane black top...Hell even Grease is aired? Just take the show for what it is entertainment. Heres a sneak peak of next weeks episode.

I gave it a shot and I'm out. I understand it's cool to see your boys or pastime on TV but it certainly does not make them look good.

I dont think anyone is saying the cars arent real, or they didnt race on the streets prior to the show, but the Show is Fake and scripted.. I have watched the show, and I live in Oklahoma, and I am embarrassed for these people.. Sure they may draw some attention, but even a piece of crap show like Jersey Shore was a hit, but it surely doesnt make the participants gain any respect? I personally think it is the wrong call to be making the claim that somehow OKC has the fastest street cars, and other parts of the country is striving to beat them, because that is just dilusional. I have watch all the episodes so far, but I can see the Fake or Exaggerated B.S. involved to make a television show, and that is what is going to turn these guys into a huge joke.

shows like that just make it harder for everyone else to build their cars and enjoy them in peace.. and every time a street race goes bad and someone dies, 99% of the news reports call it a "drag racing" crash, which makes it hard to keep legitimate tracks open and get people to go there.

but i suppose you think shows like Sons of Anarchy help the reputation of Harley riders and the Sopranos is a good representation of the typical Italian living in New Jersey...

I see the light at the end of the tunnel on this thread, and its a freight train.

Personally, glamourizing street racing by putting it on tv and calling it entertainment is rather bold considering the bad name it gives the car hobby no matter how long it has been going on. I raced on 12th st in Moore back in its hey day. It was stupid to do then and stupid now. At least pinks was set on a drag strip with saftey in mind and didn't like it either. I was turned off Street Outlaws in the first 3 minutes of the opening show when the "supposed" street racing was being done on an airstrip.

as much money as these guys spend on cars, races, jail, bail, cars etc... they could buy a piece of land and build a street style strip and make it private and the cops won't be an issue. Make it a members only thing.

The cars are awesome the fake scripted crap was what I was referring to and I didn't drink any haterade, maybe you should have a friend or family member hurt by street racing.... spend some time behind bars...pay huge fines... then you will see the light. Woodward has a major cruise now...then street racing...time has moved on and almost everyone agrees how stupid it is, hopefully you will also move on with your thoughts and views on it. in the mean time please continue to build killer cars. Like the nova and farmtruck.

Tis true, street racing pre-dates any sanctioned event. Was how hot rodding was born. I watched and participated as a teen and into my 20's. I'm grateful I wasn't hurt or hurt anyone. We've had a handful of fatalities from street racing in "industrial areas" and "remote streets" here so that's not the answer either.... but honestly, what seems to be the biggest draw is the same part that I can't stand, hours and hours of ***** talk and nonsense followed by a race or two. Yes, I watched a couple episodes to give it a fair chance. Good luck and congratulations on your notoriety.

i like looking at the cars but the fabricated drama is unbearable.

also it doesnt help the stigma the public has towards muscle car owners.

I cant rev the engine at a redlight without having to worry about blue lights popping up...even though im doing the speed limit
