      handling charachteristics.

Gents, Just wondering is there a cause and effect type diagram or info out there for getting the handling right on your car.
what i mean by this is i.e I take the car for a drive i report down what it did on the drive and then i make changes to the handling based on what it did if you know what i mean.
just trying to dial in the 68 charger handling for some track days, car will be mainly street with some circuit days so looking for a neutral sort of setup but still carve the corners.

In simplest terms, the end that slides first is the end that needs softer springs or swar bars, or, the opposite end needs more rate. But, those changes can also entail shock rates, tire compounds, body flex, and other variables. Certainly it is more involved than that and should start with four wheel scales, tire temp readings, and entry/mid/exit corner diagnosis.

Probably the best starting point is layout a 50-100 foot diameter circle in a parking lot and drive around it in increasing speed to feel how neuteral it is. This will tell you about your spring/sway bar balance. After that, a 50-100 foot slalom course will tell you about the transitional resistance that the shocks will require. After that would be fine tuning by reading tire temps to get the ideal alignment.
