Body Cleaning

On my 1978 Malibu project, all the nooks and crannies are filled with dirt dust, from I would guess drag racing it down a quarter mile dirt track somewhere, and I would like to clean it all up before painting/coating. Ultimately I will be resealing all sheet metal cracks/gaps with seam sealer and high pressure cleaning the under side I'm not sure cleaning these areas the same way will result in good things for the future of paint and body. Any ideas on how to clean it up or just wipe down before coating?

I would blow as much out with compressed air, then vacuum and wipe everything with prep-sol or a mild thiner

I used Lord Fuzor Seam sealer on my Falcon. I followed the Tech sheet procedure. Which ever seam sealer you use, see what the tech sheet says.

While blowing it out would be great, this stuff is plastered on. Underneath the package tray where it looks blacker than the dirty part, that was cleaned with a rag and brake cleaner, may have to continue with that.

they make a first cleaner that you can buy at any auto paint store that you use before sanding a car it will take off wax dirt and tar and most anything else should do the trick for you. i use it all the time
