      hurst comp. plus shifter

Apparently I have a hurst comp. plus shifter for a "Chevy " as the shifter lever bolts straight into the mechanism. My Camaro requires the lever to bolt into an offset piece that isn't available through hurst individually?? So am I up against buying a whole new shifter or does anybody have a quick fix to off set the handle or possibly an old junk shifter that has the off set piece that they'd be willing to part with??? Thanks, Tim

I have the same problem. I bought my Muncie from a guy that has a 63ish Nova with no console. He just had the Hurst Comp Plus shifter and the handle came straight up from the shifter body. Seems like I read that the Camaros are supposed to be offset to right about 2 inches. It also looks like it''s offset to the front about an inch. I'm going to cut and modift a piece to do the offset, install the shifter and look to see if it's in the center/correct location of my console then I'm going to modify or weld the new piece in position. If it works, I saved 300+ bones on having to buy a new shifter. If anyone else has an opinion, better suggestion, pics, etc, pleas chime in. I may be doing my muncie swap this weekend! Always open to a new better way!
