      help with wheel/tire package

Trying to help a friend with a cheap, simple tire/wheel package for his 70 Chevelle. He likes his Cragar Soft 8's he has now, but finding 15" tires is getting to be a pain. Got a choice of BFG or BFG or BFG.
I was hoping to get him into the 17x9- 5"bs Soft 8's and 275/40- 17 tires. front and rear.

      Does this combo fit well?

      Thanks for any/all help.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Soft 8's are some of the heaviest wheels (weight-wise) that are on the market...

They are very heavy but also really cheap. Unfortunately money is a big consideration at the moment.

yes cheap wheels = heavy wheels
Not everyone including me can afford to spend $5,000 on a set of wheels.
Heck I cant even afford to spend the $1300 on the YO snowflakes and tires I have been wanting to get for my T/A for the last 3 years.
So we have to get what we can afford or stay stock like me.
