GoPro HD 2 WiFi BacPac - Anybody use one?

Hey I was just updating my GoPro for this weekend's DSE event and saw that GoPro sells a WiFi adapter for the HD2 and an App (there's an App for that!) that allows you to control the HD2 remotely. I'm curious how well it works. Obviously the camera itself works great and I'm hoping to get some good video this weekend.

I got the HD2 camera with the WiFi BacPac for Christmas, and used it in March at the Goodguys Scottsdale show. It works great! It takes a little while to get set up, and you have to charge the bacpac separately from the camera. Once it's set up (create a username and password online, install app on phone, add username and password in phone, connect via WiFi), you can leave the bacpac powered on, and turn the camera off between runs, and power up the camera and start recording through the app. It also works well for a viewfinder, to make sure you're getting a good camera angle.

Here's one of the videos, on my brother's YouTube page. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wH750zzJQWY

Thanks for the info! Great video BTW. Those concrete barriers at the GG autocross's sure make me nervous esp after seeing Michael Tucker's car after he got an up close experience with one.

I'll have to look into getting the BacPac for one of the gift giving holidays this year! Thanks!

I'm using the Android app to control my Hero3 Silver which has WiFi built into it and it REALLY makes the camera easier to use.

So many times last year I screwed up video opportunities because of difficult camera control (turning off instead of on, taking stills instead of video, leaving camera on and running battery down etc etc). With the Android app, all of that is a non-issue anymore. Can preview the shot, turn the camera on and off, and start and stop the recording all with a simple tap on the phone screen and you know exactly what the camera is seeing and doing at all times.

I'm sure it's nearly the same with the WiFi backpack on your Hero2, you just have to charge them up separately and has a case that holds the camera with the backpack on the camera.
