      68 camaro front wheel width

Other than turning radius, is there any other issues with running a 18x9 or 18x9.5 wheel on the front of a 68 camaro with stock clip and steering?

the inside of the rim will touch the outer tie rod joint you can get shorter steering arms most likely you will get bump steer unless you buy rideteck truturn

What about shimming the steering arm inward?

Not trying to jack your thread, but I'm interested in your question also.
So what is the widest rim that can be run on the front of a first gen with a stock sub frame?
Would a 18x8.5 fit? What back spacing?

      thanks

ridetech claims a 10" rim with their Tru-Turn system. Many guys on here have it and love it. There are some clearance issues with some headers and ridetech uses many more of their own front end components with their example in the 48 hour Camaro. I think the steering arm and the sway bar are the main impediments to the wider wheels. Also if you are lowering the car, the fender lip will scrape with a 10 incher. RideTech did some lip work to alleviate that issue. There is info in other threads throughout this site about these issues if researched.

Back in the day I ran a 17x8 with 5.25" of bs on my '68. That was the absolute max on bs, as the wheel was very close to the tie rod.

I ran a 255 tire, and it did slightly rub the frame at full lock. But it wasn't a major problem to me.
