      Ford Trans.

I restored a Fairlane for my stepdad a few years back and after a few trips to Goodguys events he has some interest in trying the auto-x. We are getting ready to make a few mods to the car and need to address the transmission. He had stroke several years ago but can still drive fine but a standard will not work. I have done a search with some good results but not much out there on Ford trans or C4 stuff. Really looking to beef up the C4 that is in the car now. I know cooling is one of the main issues but I need input on converter and so on. Plan on running a 351W that has around 425hp. Any recomendatons on trusted vendors? In my neck of the woods Ford trans guys are few!!! Thanks.

I run the stock C4 in my falcon but I stuffed it full of Performance Automatic parts.
I have a custom hughes torque converter. 9" with 2600 stall.
I had PA modify the valve body to get first gear engine braking.
I have a giant cooler with fan.

Did you build it or did Performance Automatic? What gear are you running? Thanks for the input!

      Ford Trans.

We put a Performance Automatic built C4 in my dad's '68 Mustang.

      http://www.performanceautomatic.com

It's the one that is full auto in "D" but 'manual shift' when you put it in '1' or '2'... I think it works fairly well and may be a good fit for what you are looking to do.

      Best of luck!
