      need rearend help

      I have a 1957 chevy truck with a 78 camaro clip and a 3th gen rearend with disk brakes . my ? is can i swap the disk on to a 2 gen rearend

      I think the main problem is that 2nd gens use leaf springs and 3rd gens use coil springs. If your truck has a 78 Camaro clip, it should be made for leaf springs though? Is there something I misunderstand about your set up?

      the rear end i have now is a 3th gen camaro but i want to put a 2 gen camaro rear end in the truck . my main question is can i swap out the disk break from the 3th gen rear end to the 2 gen rear end

      yes, but its an inferior disc set up...they are prone to leaking and offen have parking brake problems. I'd go with a 4th gen set up for its reliability. 93-97

      thank for the info. I have a another question i have a 1957 chevy pick up that I'm trying to make protouring truck it has a 1978 front clip and the 3 gen rearend what would u suggest to give better handling

      I think that front end is quite good, or atleast as a starting point to make it better, but I wonder about your rear suspension. Did you put in a complete 3.gen rear suspension (Torquearm and panhardbar)? Or just mount a 3.gen 10bolt axle to the trucks stock leaf springs?

      you can add a 77-81 ws6 trans am front sway bar 1 3/16" to flatten out the corners its as big as they get
