BMW M3 Vaders - thoughts?

Hey guys, I've been keeping my eyes out for some seats for my 68 Camaro and came across these today. The guy wants $400. I know in BMW world they are kinda sought after seats, and I'm pretty confident I could repair the wear/cracks, but are they really that good to begin with? For a bit more than $400 I could get something new I suppose. I was thinking about offering $300 and seeing if he bit - I welcome your thoughts - are they worth messing with?

My personal opinion is to look further. There are other/better deals out there. My buddy is all about finding a deal. He just found a near mint pair of GTO seats for $200. Just be patient, the right ones will come along for the right price.

I have the same seats in my 69 and love them very comfortable i paid 750 . in canada we pay double for everything lol.

My personal opinion is.........and thats all it is...........if youre looking at some leather seats that arent aftermarket why not get some Cobalt SS seats of the Recaro variety?

Try t look for the 2000 or newer bmw convertible seats. There have been some guys that haved used them in the 1st gen camaro's and they also have the intergrated seatbelt. Do a search on the interior section here and on lateral-g. I plan on using these seats in my 68 camaro convertible.

I'm running 2003 E46 M3 convertible seats in my first gen and LOVE the fact that they have intergrated seat belts. They weren't too difficult to mount and, once I get them fully powered up, they're heated too! Warning, they are NOT light so if you're worried about weight look elsewhere. I seem to recall someone mentioning 80#'s each. I paid $400 for the pair but after selling my stock seats for $250 I was only into these for $150, not too bad.

I agree with most on here. I would offer substantially less than the 400 or get something else.. If you are patient and hunt around you can find a better deal or at least more for your 400... BTW, I own an actual leather tannery that produces leather hides.. no way you are gonna get those wrinkles and cracks out of that material.. too far gone to be able to fix that without it looking like total sh*t. Just my .02 cents.

I'm putting some of those E46 convertible seats in my car as well, paid around $450 I think (?) but they are in perfect shape and came with wiring pigtails and all that. Of course the day after they were delivered I found some less than 5 minutes away on craigslist for $200, they needed some work though. They are heavy, but if you're building an old convertible the integrated seat belt is almost mandatory IMO. If not, go check out the local parts yard, the one around here has a couple semi trailers full of their better seats that makes it easy to compare and contrast different models.

So how did you get the seat heaters to work? I have a set in my 1969 camaro and I haven't found a decent wiring diagram for the seat heaters.
I'm hoping I could potentially use the heater controls from an infiniti as they are mounted individually where the BMW has the control switches in a panel with other buttons.
