Go for lowering springs. Besides, 2" lowering blocks is too much. It places all the stress on the long U bolts holding everything together. It's like raising a truck with 6" blocks in the back. Not a good idea! Any amount of power and traction will break something.

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?
Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?

      try this

Try drilling the front leaf spring mount 3/4" higher. You will need to cut away the top of the mount to clear the spring eye. It takes time, but will lower car 1/2-3/4". Then use shorter block. You can cut aluminum blocks to desired size. This is done a lot on 2nd gens, but 1st gens work too. It also raises the roll center and dive charaterestics of the car, it should launch better. I would never use block bigger than 1", I did the above mentioned and then used 1/2" blocks, which eliminated the wheel hop

Be carefull, that only works on 2nd gen F-bodies. There is not enough room on a 1st gen. Mounting the front leaf mount higher was invented by Herb Adams. When you read his comments on this mod, you will see that he already said it won't work on a first gen.

hehe ok, you got it...its not too bad. We just welded in a pocket for the spring eye to fit into.
And its funny how a small change can make a big difference.

The second gen leaf bracket has a lower hole position compared to a first gen. I think it's about 1/2 lower, so the first gen has less room to raise.
