      T-56 prices

Howdy all, I was wondering what the going rate for say a 1994 T-56 trans rated at 450 ft/ lbs is going for these days.... Ebay shows them all over the map from $700 to $1700. I have a change to pick one up locally for $650 complete with bell, shifter, hydro clutch set up, what are your thoughts?

Do it to it! I got mine 6-7 years ago for $800. At the time they were in the $1500 range near me.

If I had the chance to pick that up for $650 I wouldn't waste much time buying it. I bought one years ago at a swap meet for $275 and sold it on ebay a week later for over 1k. I also picked one up of craigslist for $800. $650 is a great price.

I kinda suspected its a desent price so i snatched it up. I dont really like the gear ratios with its 2.66 to 1 first but i think i can change them out with a kit?

Those older T56 are ok if your building a sbc based motor. I built a 383 sbc and used a 1997 t56 out of a wrecked Trans am I bought stripped tranny and components and sold Trans am for same price I bought it for, so I got it all for free..it's a matter of what pain points your willing to suffer. 650 isn't a unfair price IMO
