      Poly and Johnny Joint questions

I am happy to say I finally have my triangulated 4-link set up where I wanted it! Now I have a few questions regarding the joints.

      1. Is there a recommended torque spec for tightening a poly joint and/or Johnny Joint?

      2. Should the steel tube (can't think of it's correct name) that your bolt goes through be the same width as the poly? A couple that came with my kit are shorter, and I'm thinking it will "wedge" my poly.

      3. Anything else I should know?

I'm going to pull my suspension apart and fully weld my brackets, thought this would be some good info to know. I tried to search with no avail, I haven't had much luck with the search engine here yet.

      Mitch,
      1) I would just get the "slop" out of the races. Don't put any preload on the ball.
      2) The brackets MUST clamp on the inner sleeve. It should be flush or about .005 longer. If the bushings fit OK between the brackets and the sleeve is too short, a longer sleeve is the right answer to keep from bending the brackets when you tighten everything up.
      3) There is a special urethane/poly lube available to keep things from squeaking down the road.

Do you have a name/names for the poly/urethane lube? Where I bought the kit listed Poly lube, but was sold out and didn't list a name for the product.

Thanks UMI, do you have any universal bushings? All I see on your site is sway bar bushings or Roto-links.

Glad to help. No universal, just bushings custom made for our suspension items. Sorry I couldn't help there. Thanks!
