There are projects on here that started far worse than that. Set a goal for it and start researching this particular car to find out what the options were. It is an RS which is nice!

I would first rotate your pictures so they are easier to look at. LOL
The I would take more pictures. We like to look at pictures.
What you have for spending money on the car? If your on a limited budget I would start with trying to get all of the original missing parts. I would not worry about numbers matching parts as the price easily doubles when you mention that you want a date coded part.
What are your plans for the car? Short term and long term. Is this going to be a DD or just a toy.
Answer some of these questions and we can help you a lot more.

I have a small block 327 which just needs to be fonw through and it should be in running condition also anything else motor wise I have covered because my dad raced superstock for years. My budget is well to be honest I have my dads wallet for the expenaive things like the rear end and so on. Also I can use a rosslwr turbo 400 tranny which is already available to me. I found it in rthat cinder block garage without much of a roof.

We offer bolt on Torque Arm kits for 67-81 F-Bodies & 68-74 X-Bodies with 10 bolt & 12 bolt rears & a kit that comes with a Ford 9" as well.

The guys who want a Ford 9" can order a kit that includes a bare Strange housing for $600 more. Take a look at the link below detailing an install that a member here completed with our Ford 9 in. kit in his 1973 Firebird:

Here is a video of a customer who got 2nd place in Street Machine Class at Kansas Good Guys recently. He is running air over shocks and had not adjusted the roll center via Watt’s Link….. he should be able to cut about 2 seconds off this time just by addressing these issues.

Here is a VERY informative tech article written by our R&D manager explaining what it does:

Let me know if you or your Dad have any questions about the kit we offer.

      BTW:

Our suspension system for your car will be featured on Two Guys Garage in a few weeks on Speed Channel!!!

Great find and enjoy the process of building what you really want. Get it safe and on the road and then do the mods as you have time and money. I would recommend that you don't tear it all down as its hard to stay motivated when you have to go long periods of time without getting to drive it.

Good luck and that's a really awesome car for being 17 years old.

Thank you all I greatly appreciate the help ill make sure to look up more on the rear end. And I found this car in north west missouri. Ot is very surprising that the car isnt rusted to heck bc of our weather but I guess I got lucky!
Anyone know anything about mini tubs for the rearend. Because id like to go with a rather wide tire/wheel on back and dont know if stock tubs will work?

Please rotate the pictures. I hate having to sit my laptop on it's side. Good luck with the project!

With our 10/12 bolt kit & OE wheel wells you can run up to a 315 tire on a 10"-11" bolted to a OE rear.

We can locate the lower control arm mounts further inward on the Ford 9" rear we offer which allow use of deeper offset wheels. The Ford 9” setup will allow up to a 345 tire on up to 13" wide rim with widened inner wheel tubs to accommodate them. We can build the 9" ranging from OE wheel offset up to 5" narrowed (2.5" per side).

Most guys doing a P-T build spec out the rear as narrow as possible then measure for wheel offsets once the suspension and rear is mocked up in the car before ordering wheels. Some builders order the wheels first, mock them up in the car then tell us what width you need the rear.

      Christian,

Welcome. That is a nice find.

Since you mention you are only 17, I am going to go out on a limb and guess you are not dripping with money to spend on this project.

If so, I suggest you clean the car up and assess what you have. Once you know what you have, you will need to prioritize where to begin.

It looks like you need a motor and transmission. LS motors and T56 transmissions are great, but can be more costly than the old small blocks. My son (young married, no money) and I put a 350 into a Sonoma on a shoestring budget. He found the full size pickup 5 speed (NV3500) cost only $375 at the boneyard. A rebuildable Vortec 5.7 can be found for a few hundred bucks if you look around. You may even be able to find a donor 5-speed full-size pickup with both the engine and transmission that can be pulled. You can then sell what's left to the boneyard to recoup some cash.

We used a carb on his and an old HEI distributor to make life easy.

I found suspension parts for my Nova were lower cost from the circle track suppliers. They aren't as pretty, but work.

Good Luck. That looks like a nice car to start with.
