      LT1 engine and trany

I know everyone loves the LS motors but I found a 94 Z/28 with the LT1 and a six speed manual trans in the car. Runs good and trans feels good car drives good. It was sold as a parts car because I was told that it was wrecked and the owners never came to claim or get it back after they fixed the front end. but fore under 2000.00 I don't think its a bad deal. The interior is trashed but still a good parts car. Anything bad about the LT1? Already got a big block in my 1970 and wanted a small block for the 69 camaro.

I had an LT1 in my car before going with an LS. They are good motors, one of the bad raps they get is for the optispark (the distributor located directly below the water pump). It was reliable and it was fun to drive. Is the $2k for just the motor/tranny or for the whole car. Alot of people do well parting out those cars. Honestly, nowadays for the money you can do an LS for about the same money that you could for the LT. If you stay fuel injection, the aftermarket and support is alot bigger for LS stuff. How many miles are on the motor?

About 140000 but very smooth running and shifting. I figured on going through it and add some goodies.

Running an LT1 on my 65 Chevelle. Redid the harness with instructions from LT1swap.com and been running great for a while.
