      HID projector style lights?

Are HID projector lights cooler to the touch than regular lights for the most part?

Reason I need to know is I am pl.anning on modifying the headlight and driving lights for projector units and the housing area is made from CF and covered with lexan. So I need to know if I need to worry about heat from the lights or not.

The car originally had 4x6" sealed headlights and 5" driving lights if this helps any.

Building cars or any project must be fun first. If not it turns into a job.

We build cars for the fun and enjoyment of it, it is a family time things.

So if the fun stops, the build stops.

HID's that I have worked with are hotter. Projectors have a concentrated beam. If you are wanting a cooler bulb try the LED variety. This is from Rodger's Ironworks. http://www.ironworksspeedandkustom.c...=cat/cat17.htm
