I truly appreciate the compliments, so I feel like I owe you guys an update! Unfortunatley I havent made any progress in a few weeks. I was forced to stash the GN away while I had some foundation repair done to my garage:( It really sucks because the whole ordeal took time and money away from my car (also made a mess of my garage). Oh well, Sometimes projects get put on the back burner when important stuff pops up. I'll get back on track soon!

Awesome build so far! Sorry about it being postponed but I'm sre it won't be down for too long. BTW, love the garage too!

How far did you move your framerails in 2 or 3 inches. I'm looking to start working on my Monte carlo next month. Also how long is your 12 bolt.

After a looong break from working on my GN I had some friends help push it out and give it a bath. It was really motivating just seeing it sit outside and clean again! The body is still just on temporarily for mocking up body mounts and checking clearances on a few things.

I went with urethane body mounts. It seemed like they sat too high so I trimmed them down using a band saw. I took 3/8" off the mounts at the radiator support and front of the body. I had to taper up slightly toward the back of the car because the body gets really close to parts of the frame near the rear suspension.

I had some aluminum washers made to replace all the steel washers that come with the urethane (and factory) mounts. It seems anal but I was really surprised how heavy all the body mounts were. I don't remember the exact number but the new washers were a few pounds lighter than the steel. they are all 1/8" thick.

Hung the front fenders to check the body gaps with all the new mounts in place. Everything looks like it is lining up ok. Im hoping the front sits at least 1" lower than this once all the weight is back on the front.

Looks great, keep up the good work! Funny I looked at shortening the body mounts but started at the back and it didn't look like it was worth it...
