      Hey Larry....

Go knock on Ron DeRaad's door. Isn't he close to you? I'm dying to find out if he ever got his car done. Inquiring minds wanna know.

His website is down so maybe he fell off the earth.

I dig the black on the rocker panel. I don't recall the designation code for it but IMO much nicer looking than the chrome panel or body color particularly if the car is all one color.

He was planning on repainting it though. Here's a link. I found his other site.

      I see.

Is he going whole hog with it, or something more utilitarian?

What was your line? "Don't scrimp on the paint or you'll look like a mullet."

Hey!! You remember--cool. Yeah. Just my opinion, but I don't think the "rat rod look" works well on a muscle car. It brings back bad memories of air shocks.

I don't know what happened to this car. It was an ambitious project, but he seemed like a can-do kinda guy. And if you look at the pix on his site, it looks like he was close to completion. I'm anxious to see that stripe come to life.
      Thanks

Yup, I remember. Still have the issue.

Utility is one thing, suede is something entirely different. Id dig the heck out of a black primered 50 merc, a black primered 32 5 window, and there is a red primered 50 Caddy down the street from my grandparents that makes me think naughty thoughts.

But yer right, a musclecar needs paint. But expensive paint seems like a waste of $$ that could go into suspension or motor when it's just gonna get rock chipped and such. If my paint job winds up looking as good as an OEM paint job I'll be happy. I have no desire to have something worthy of sitting at the fairgrounds with the Goodguys.

i use to check out ron's site just about everyday and the only thing I have seen was he added more motor pics like 4 months ago. Looking at the motor pics it looks like he stripped the car down and it was at paint.

Me too. I asked about him in the crossbreeding thread, but I guess nobody caught it. I thought the last pics that were posted it was close too paint and almost ready to fire?
