I need a decision asap on this. Would you go with 2nd gen color matched mirrors, chrome 67 or chrome 68 mirrors ?

      My car

      67 mirrors

      68 mirrors

      or second gen mirrors?

see on the 69 they fit great. 69 is alittle bigger without the vent window.

Does it take much to get the 2nd Gen to fit on a 68?

I saw somewhere something about using 70s mustang bullets...supposedly a little bigger. I used the 2nd gen bullets and like them much better than the chromes but the mirrors are small. If I were to do it over would find driver side without remote control. The cable, feeding big end piece thru door, routing, mounting, etc all a big PITA on a redone/new interior. Plus not that fond of the remote....a little squirrely compared to today's electronic controlled adjustments. Plus how often do we need to adjust mirrors...almost never..unless they have one of these cable remote setups.
I originally modded up some aftermarket mirrors that look more euro-like. Personally didn't like the look...but some like it. Got them for sale now ;) I'll look for some pics

2nd gens here for my 68 Camaro
OER models. Zip tieing and taping up control inside the drivers door, so mirror wont move.

What I did. Don't remove the cable or your mirror will not stay in place!

Have a look at our Clear Shot Mirrors.Look like stock mirrors.
Our mirrors Eliminate the blind spot and also will stay adjusted.

Thanks but I am trying to get away from the chrome stuff and get it painted. That's why I am interested in the second gen mirrors.

The only mod would be drilling new holes. Best to use a backer plate on the inside of the door too.
