      My 68 Camaro Build

Yes, yet another 68 Camaro build ;)

I first bought the car back in 1994. I worked on it for a few years. I did some upgrades, drove it for a very short period of time, and then I just couldn't get it running right, and didn't have the money to spend on it.

Then I got sidetracked by other interests, and let the car sit for many many years. In 2008, I moved from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Los Angeles. At that point, I moved the car to my sister's house out in the country, where the car sat for three more years. Here is what it looked like back then...

Then, my sister hinted that she would like to to come get my damn car ;) So, it was roadtrip time.

The car had faired pretty well..

I found some cheap used tires for the front and we got it on a UHaul trailer and headed back to LA.

After a little over 2200 miles, I got it home to LA. Where it sat for another year, since I was in an apartment complex with very little parking. Then, one day, while riding my motorcycle to work, a guy in an RV turned right in front of me and I hit him head on. While in the hospital, I was informed by my girlfriend I wasn't allowed to ride a motorcycle anymore ;)

I ended up moving in with her, and her building had more space, so I could start working on the car.

This is the engine compartment when I got back to working on it..

At this point the car had no working brakes, since the master cylinder was leaking. I checked and a new one was only $14.99 at PepBoys. A few days later...

One of the reasons I had stopped driving it back in Canada, was after doing some mods to the engine, I just couldn't get it to run properly. It ran REALLY hot and just really bad. I thought at the time I might have mis-aligned the timing chain when I did the cam. So I started with that and pulled everything off the front of the engine and the timing chain was fine.

So now I am putting it all back together and I will see what happens this time.

Next episode, more history on the car, current progress and short and long term plans ;)
