      Backseat restraints for 1969 camaro...

Can a 4 point harness be used safely in the backseat of a 69 camaro? I would like to use more than a lap belt for my 5 year old son once he outgrows his car seat. The package tray would be reinforced for the upper mounting points. If a harness will work, could I add a chest strap similar to the one on his car seat?

Morris classic seatbelts make 3-points rears that bolt in..... I am at that point also with my son needing one. But not sure that the camaros will fit the 3rd gen novas...

For the same purpose I had installed the rear seat belts from a 99 camaro in the rear of my 68 Firebird. Had to mount retractor in trunk and modify package tray a tad but much better than factory lap belts and cheaper than the Morris belts.

I would not want a seat belt in my car that was already in an accident. Some states require the salvage yard to cut the seat belt to avoid reuse. An added feature of a seat belt is that the webbing stretches in an accident which slows your body down resulting in less bodily injury. Even though stretching is only about .08 percent but then again anything that helps with ones safety is a Plus.
