Best air filter

Hi all

I was wondering from you guy with experiences what is the best air filter to use in terms of best filtering,flow....etc?What material is best,what shape,does shape make that big of a difference,will one large round air filter like the ones they use on trucks work better in terms of filtering and flow.....etc if you have a turbo or N/A engine? Because I have seen some scary filtering test with big name brands that almost doesn't filter any dust and a friend developed engine trouble because of an cone air filter he put on his truck and didn't filter correctly.

i've never seen any indication of dirt or dust getting past regular replacement Wix paper filters, and i saw no measurable performance difference between a stock filter, a 14X3 open filter, and a 14X4 open filter in back to back to back runs over about a 20 minute period on my ~400hp Nova at a 1/8 mile crag strip during an open "street race" night..

I agree, use the stock type paper element filter, the fancy stuff is just fancy, not better. Look up Jim Hand, be is a Pontiac guy that is very meticulous when building and tuning his stuff, he recommends the cheap paper filters over the reuseable stuff all day long.
