Project "Am1nal", just another '69 Camaro

Finally have been able to get a hold of my favorite car. A 1969 Camaro. I found it on craigslist in Atlanta, Georgia after months of searching for the one i could afford. It worked out wonderfully with this one because most of the hard work was already done. All the rotten sheet metal had been replaced professionally by a shop in Georgia and they did a great job. I bought it as a roller, which worked out well for the direction I am wanting to go with on it which is LSX.

It's unfortunate in the way I obtained the car though. The man who had previously put all his time, money and labor into the car passed away on thanksgiving day 2011. He had been keeping reciepts for everything and he was doing it right. His wife then sold the car to a neighbor and she left town shortly after. The neighbor wasn't getting the time he thought he would have with the car, so he posted it for sale and long story short I left Kentucky on August 11, 2012 to pick up the car in Dallas, Georgia and heading back to the bluegrass.

I have always loved cars, but have never really started fixing one up. I have owned many with the intent to do so, but the farthest i ever get is the teardown process then pretty much sell it. Not with this one though. I plan on finishing it with the intent to keep and build to suit the image I have in my head. I also do not know everything about what I am doing and advice/constructive criticism is welcomed. Enjoy!

Oh, and I intentioinally call it "aminal" instead of animal because to me an "aminal" is like a battered, cross eyed, house cat on meth.

I bought all brand new sheet metal from Camaro Central here in Kentucky a few days after i got the car. The car already has brand new frame rails, quarters, inner and outer rear wheel housing, tail pan, trunk, doors, dash and a few other things im sure im forgetting.

When I had bought the car the subframe had already been sandblasted and powdercoated black. I have since then rebuilt it completely with brand new parts such as tubular control arms, shocks, springs, larger sway bar, disc brakes and all steering components. Still need to find a power steering box out of an IROC.

I just purchased an L99 out of a 2011 SS Camaro that got t-boned. It only had 350 miles on the car at the time too.

got my LS3 intake on shortly after.

Then got a T56 with 40k miles from a guy in Conneticut.

LS7 pressure plate, clutch and flywheel with about 4k miles.

Put the output shaft in the trans and take it to a quarter car wash. Use the engine degreaser then spray it off with the pressure washer. Done and you have no mess to clean up
