      MCI Console Question

This is really for anyone who has used one of their consoles in a build; I'm thinking about buying a Gen 2 Stilletto ( http://www.modernclassicsinteriors.c..._Stiletto.html ), and was wondering how well I might be able to fit some ISIS modules inside of it (the primary reason I am thinking about getting one). Space under my dash is a t a premium, so if I could put two or even 3 modules underneath the console, it would help me out a ton, while also providing a place to mount my MiMod screen as well. I'm ashamed ot say that I have had all this stuff sitting in boxes waiting for me to install it for about 2 years now, but I am finally getting around to it. Being unemployed at the moment has it's advantages, I suppose.

I looked at the measurements, and theorhetically they should fit, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience really putting em in there and how many you could fit. Car is a 1967 Mustang, but I don't think that would have a huge bearing on what would or wouldn't fit; my Tunnel is pretty normal.

We have a 67 in the shop. Send me the measurements of the modules with the plugs in place and will check it out. It would be a sure fit if you get a console without the glove box, that would free up a lot of space.

Thanks for the reply; I didn't want to bother you with this; figured you were too busy and the quesion was a bit abstract. The measurements of the units are 2.04(h) x 6.52 (w) x 7.22 (l). THe 2.05 is not including the connectors, which plug in to the top of the units; they probably add another .75 to 1.0 inches, though I don't have exact numbers on that.

Looking at the schematics that you have on the website it looks to me like the modules would only fit in the forward half of the console, so I think I'd be ok with the glove box and cupholders, because that space back there (4.5 wide, IIRC) would be too narrow anyway. I need to fit at least 2 of these under there, as well as my MiMod box. I don't have measurements for that, but I ams ure that it would need to go up in the very front portion of the console if I use it. Is there enough room on the console to mount a 7 inch touchscreen?

I should say that I would like, rather than need. I've got a few other places planned out for them, but putting them under the console would really be ideal.

I will take a look at it tomorrow. The 7 inch touch screen will fit. How deep is the touch screen unit?

Mimod box is 11.25*9.25*3.5 plugs are on the ends, so the 9.25 is a total width.

      Touchscreen is about 1.25 thick

Isis modules are 3 inches tall with plugs, but probably need another.5 for mounting.

As long as you leave the arm rest at the full 9" hieght, you will have enough room. Some builders are trimming the bottom so the arm rest is 7" tall. There might not be enough room for the plug on the module if it is set at 7".
lowering the back lowers the console from front to back.

Isn't the console only 4.5 inches wide in the back? I didn't think there is enough space between the seats to fit the console if it's that wide.

We can make the console any width or length we want, I will check on the arm rest fit when I am up at the shop Friday.

Somehow I missed your reply to this thread; I didn't realize that you could do them in custom widths; that is great to know. I'll take a few measurements and get back to you as to how much room I have. How much space do you have in the Mustang right now with the stock seats?

When we get the console moved forward a lilttle it will fit just right between the seats.
