      Paint scheme idea.

Hey there. I have something in mind that Im hoping one of you can help me visualize.

I'm considering a paint scheme similar to the Yunick Camaro but with a satin black on top (instead of the copper) and Subaru WRC blue on the flanks (instead of black).

I want minimal chrome, no front bumper, satin black in the grill and wheels with a black center and polished rim.

Can someone photochop that up or do a quick & dirty rendering for me? That's the best photo I have, dunno if it's worth using as a starting point.

      Thanks,
      True

By the way, how would one best achieve a satin black finish?

Paint w/o a clear over it, or paint with a sanded clear?

You might want to head down to your local Ducati dealer. I owned a Ducati Monster Dark (motorcycle) that has a matte black finish it can be washed, waxed, etc. But it gives a nice painted look.

      Excellent!
      Thanks for the tip Steve!
Now that you mention it, I've seen one of those bikes and that finish is EXACTLY what I am thinking about.

Now....I wonder what it might actually look like on a car as described above?

      Going for the streetfighter/Trans-Am thing.
I found a guy that makes a two piece 17" minilite replica wheel and he will build it in any offset I want. SWEET!
These wheels, but with a black center, this blue is kinda close to the Subie color, but a bit too bright.

      Hey,

Here's a crude photoshop for you.

Personally, I think pink would be better.

they are making "flat clears" now that can be used to get the suede look you are after.

Sorry Tony....I just can't see driving a pink car. Is it my monitor, or does that look like Dodge "Plum Crazy" on that thing?

Thanks for the chop. I kinda dig the way it looks (not so much the purple color) but I have a better idea of how it might turn out.

Damn true, here is a link to what i think you want. It is a real simple, inexpensive, durable acrlic enamel with activator and hardner.

Its your imagination.. my old '69 was painted Subie WRX pearl blue and people went nuts over the color..

It is a very BLUE color and is not not purple..

Lots of pics on my website..

I think your color combo sounds VERY nice..

BTW.. THIS is WRX Subie blue..

I am outta my mind lookin at that!

Whatcha think? Should the black carry all the way over the spoiler and cover the tail light panel, or end at aft end of the trunk lid?

either way is cool. That will look great, get to work!

Dupont hot rod black works good, I just did some helmets flat black with gold leaf and red pinstripes.Mix it thoroughly, it seperates.I threw a couple of clean nuts and bolts in the can and shook it.

I'm liking that too. Seperate the black-n-blue by a thin silver accent stripe and it's done. Are ya done yet?! j/k
