      My 64 GTO project

Finally about done. Now I need to find an overdrive 5 or 6 speed. Cruising down the interstate at 70mph turning 3000rpm's is really sucking down the gas. :D

Car looks very nice. Are the bumpers painted or brushed aluminum?

Bumpers are original 64's that need a rechrome. Funding has been a big issue with this project. I was really thinking about going with fiberglass bumpers to drop a few more pounds and it will be a lot cheaper than a rechrome.

Nice looking ride ! Love the 64's too, and I've been looking for a nice builder for a couple of years now myself.

Looks beautiful! Would you mind sharing the tire and wheel sizes? You nailed the fitment, I'd love to match that look on my '65 442

Wheels are 18x9 rear with 255/45/18 and the fronts are 18x7 with 225/45/18. Tubular upper and lowers in front with 2" drop springs(I think) its been a while and a 1.5" drop in the rear. Bilsteins and 4wheel disk brakes, rears complements of a 95 camaro. Interior is a complete front and rear set from a 2006 GTO and I even used the package tray from the 2006 with a little modification and a recover. Converted to power windows and door locks, keyless entry and power trunk release. Motor was with the car when I bought it and is a matching number Pontiac 400 from a 68 GTO with the matching Muncie 4 speed. I rebuilt both in the process even though it was a running driving car when I bought it. I will try to upload some more pics.

Very nice. I think GM nailed the a-body cars in 64-65.

This is the first '64 that made me miss mine. I sold it 15 years ago.

Thanks guys glad yall like it. It is still a work in progress and there are several things that need tweaked. Still little more wiring to do as well. Hopefully I can get some pics of the engine bay here in a couple days and post them.

What size wheel & tire are you running? I have a 64 Lemans that is all original. I have been thinking about messing with the suspension & engine.
