BTW, precisely what is an LSX? An LS - whatever your bore and stroke? I suffer from a severe case of n00b.

LSX represents the family from the 4.8 to the 6.2. In my eyes, the LS7 is different in that many if its parts aren't interchangeable and the same could be said of the supercharged and bigger bore motors. Search craigslist or LS1tech.com classified section. On this board there is a guy named Travis that goes by daytonayellaz that always has some pullout LSX engines for killer deals. He is very knowledgeable too.

The LSX also refers to the GM Bowtie Cast Iron block...
