      Code 54 Help Pls

My bird is still not running... :( It's a 87 Trans Am WS6 with a 5.0L TPI engine. I actually got it to start this morning but it had a very erratic idle. and it eventually died. it acted like it isnt getting enough fuel which explains the code im getting, but when i hit the pin on the fuel rail where you can throw a gauge it shoots out real good. should i find a gauge and see what the pressure is? also the car seems to shut off when it warms up a little. any help would be great.

      I'm getting a code 54:

      low fuel pump voltage
      OR
      fuel pump relay
      OR
      EGR Solenoid No. 2 Failure
      OR
      Quad Driver Module output failure
      OR

54 is fuel pump problem but...

try tapping on your MAF sensor...(the black thing in between your throttle body and air cleaner) has 3 wires going to it. Also check the wires an connectors for damage. Also make sure the rubber tubes are tight and free of leaks. Those are a big source of hard starting headaches that year.
When doing fuel testing try to get a pressure and volume test.
I think the pressure should be around 45psi? and should put out at least a quart in 30sec? this is from memory and i have a bad one.

Heh... I feel like I had a similar situation. Mine turned out to be a bad coil.
