      Brake Issues

My wife drives a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and yesterday morning she told me that her brakes did not work about a 1/4 mile from our house and she had to pull off the road to avoid an intersection. I drove tha car when i got home from work and tried to recreate the problem but did not have any luck. She then said that it happened on another day in the same exact spot wich is a dwon hill stop sign but she pumped them and was able to stop. The fluid level seems fine and i do not see anythink leaking. i drove it for a while trying all kinds of stopping to see if i could see what the exact issues was but could not do it. what are some areas to check? thanks guys

Hi, I would check your brake booster vaccum hose for restrictions or cuts. If all is good there it sounds like the vaccum booster check valve or internal booster diaphram is damaged and leaking engine vaccum. Hopefully this helps!!!

Ask her if the pedal went low or to the floor. Sounds like a bad master cylinder....try this. In a safe area, roll to a moderate stop, note the level then release the pedal slightly then depress hard. Try this several times in a row.
