      tire size question

Ok, need help. I have a '67 Camaro, drum brakes all 4 wheels on 14" rims and stock suspension. I have ordered and received my 17" rims from Vintage Wheel Works. They are 17x 8 with 4.5 bs. Now to the question of tire size. I am thinking of 235x45x 17 for the front and 255 or 275x 45 x17 for the rear. Tires- Michelin pilot series. Am I on the correct track or need to make a different choice in tire size? Thanks in advance

Tire sizes sound pretty good. You could go with a 245 on the front, isntead of the 235. On the rear for a 275, you're going to need atleast a 9" wide wheel. 8" is a bit to thin for a 275. 255 will probably work best. You could also just run 245s all the way aroun and be able to rotate 'em.

      thanks

Thanks, Ralph, sounds like I may have to step up and buy a pair of 17x9.5" rims for the rear with 5.5 bs to get the correct look and be able to run a 275. I can always use a 8" rim for a spare and hae 1 extra in case of damage , etc. Again, Thanks!

No problem. That rear rim and b/s should work perfectly with the 275s. Post some pics when you get the wheels on the car.
