Need a narrow rear caliper
I am adding rear disk to the S10 axle in my '73 Vega. The 2WD Blazer i got this axle out of had two piston alum floating calipers, but they hit the chassis before the bump stops. I want to keep the 11 5/8 rotor and internal parking brake. I am thinking I could make a bracket to fit a fixed caliper to the axle.
Thing is- I dont have a lot of room to work with:
OEM bracket surface to rotor is .885
Center of rotor to chassis is 2 3/8
Wheel mounting surface to center of rotor is 2 1/2
I looked up a few aftermarket calipers that were around 4" wide- Any thoughts? This will be a driver with occasional autocross.
