      Two tone. In or out?

Are 2 tone paint jobs still in? It seemed to be popular a few years ago and now the trend seems to have shifted back to solid colors. I have some body issues I need to address on top of the quarters and was considering painting the top side silver with a thin burnt orange dividing stripe or burnt orange with a thin silver stripe. Any thoughts?

My personal opinion, two tone can date a car pretty quickly. Your car is beautiful as is and will be timeless. I can understand the temptation to do something different with it while it is at the body shop, but I think it looks awesome as it sits. Is there a build thread on this car?

My car is 2 tone. While i know it can date a car if done with the right wheels, color, and theme it can keep it from looking dated. I plan on driving my car and getting chips/ dings / ect in it. It will need to be repainted in 10 or 15 years and then I can change back to solid color or keep 2 tone.

Beautiful car! Will look good either way, but I like the solid colors personally.

      Two tone. In or out?

Personally, I'm kinda burned out with two tones.

I vote to keep it the way it is. Why mess with perfection!? I dig the side mirrors too.

You you like 2 tone or not? It's shouldn't be a matter of in or not in. I've never liked it. Screws with the cars lines.

Beautiful car. Looks great all black. You can always compromise by choosing dark silver for a subtle contrast.

solid looks good, if you must maybe a flat black upper section starting at the fender edge line.

Leave it back and do a vinyl wrap for the second color, that way in a few years if it looks dated you just pull it off.

However long you think your project will take, double it and you might be halfway right.

Thanks for the input and compliments. I remember reading about some software that you can try different paint schemes. Does anyone know who produced this? Thanks again.

Digital Paint Booth from House of colors is inexpensive for one car. It is very easy to learn, but you only get the one 3/4 angle and the background it comes with.

      Out...

IMHO.. few splashes of flat black in a few key places on that car would be Money..

Good taste is timeless. Chances are that if a particular look becomes outdated then it wasn't tasteful to begin with. In our out, 2 tone was... not terribly tasteful.
