      Boyd Reviews?

My buddy wants to throw some Boyd's on his ride but he heard that the quality was something to be talked about. He wants to go with the JYD's (Junk Yard Dogs). Has anybody had any problems with Boyd wheels? Just trying to help my buddy out, so any info is appreciated. Thanks - Garrett.

Smoothies and Magnetos are "Cast" wheels and therefore of a lesser quality than forged. (As are the JYD's) I've noticed they don't shine as well as other wheels. Maybe the better quality ones( Bitchin/Gotcha etc) will be better. Also people didn't like the center caps with the "stickers" I don't know if they fixed that problem yet.

he is correct my magnetos don't look like a billet wheel they kinda have a sheen(is that a word) about them, that I kinda like that look on my truck but.....

I was going to order the JYD wheels about 4 weeks ago and decided to call Boyds direct to check availability and ask about the finish. I was told they were having trouble getting the wheel to pass destructive testing and would have to redesign it a little. The estimated delivery was estimated at maybe 10-12 weeks. I decided to go with something else. you might want to call them and check on the status.

I've never heard much bad about Boyd's wheels.
Their new 309 five spokes are absolutely gorgeous.

I'd love to get a pair of wheels with a sticker on the center gap! Taking it off would me my first order of business! I hate brand emblazoned expensive wheels! I paid the company enough for their wheels and would prefer to not have to look at their advertising slogon all the time.

I wouldn't give the Boyd monster a penny of my money , but thats's my opinion.

      Go with Billet Specialties.

      69 Camaro Destructor wheel

I have purchased but not yet used a set of these wheels and the quality and workmanship are next to none. they were made to my exact specifications and the service and delivery time were exceptional.
17x8 front and 17x11 for rear.
