      Playing with the Pumkinator

Life has been incredibly busy since we arrived in GA about 2 months ago, and a car related break was big time in order. Last night our shop manager, my 14 year old son, and I took a 4 hour road trip up to NC to Detroit Speed's open house. I wish I could explain how inspiring being in their shop was. So inspiring I snuck away with my son and a camera today in a warehouse district to finally try to get an idea of how my suspension is working, the action starts around 0:10 sec into the vid...

At this point it was obvious the factory 7.5" open rear is a limiting factor, hard to see what kind of stick the car has when the right tire is frying. One thing I see in the vids is that the car seems to hold a fairly level stance when cornering. I really need to get starting on building my 9" so I can try to keep the tires gripping and pull some hard corners. Since we couldn't get traction I decided to just play a little and warm up the tire a bit...

Too bad the camera missed the first part of this one...

Yeah, it was "fair grounds" dropped before, 4" in the front, but now it's about 2". Funny thing is with all the new suspension it handles way better than it ever did slammed.
