      GM introduces the NEW LT-1

      Chevy announced today a new fifth-generation Small Block V8 engine for the new 2014 Corvette. The new motor is dubbed LT1.

      I think it comes down to marketing...... look at the new/old tags for the current Camaro's "ZL-1", "1LE".

      Do you remember the sick feeling in your stomach when the rebadged 85-88 Toyota Corolla were called a Nova? GM decided that a entry level midsize front wheel drive car should be called a Malibu back in 1997.
      Then in 2000 the minds were at it again decided to take Chevrolets beloved Impala & Monte Carlo namesakes and attach them to FWD Lumina based vehicles.

      IMO the worst was when someone maybe Bob Lutz himself decided that the Holden Monaro should have been dubbed a GTO.


      Why??? I can only guess it is marketing.
