Help with idle - holley 4150

Need some help - suggestions - direction to go.......

been having issues with the edelbrock carb leaking so i rebuilt the Holley 4150 i had on the bench
its a 4150 double pumper with a 750 body with no choke and i used Holley rebuild kit to do the job

problem is it's idling around 2800 rpm ??



here is what i have tried so far
- turn down the idle screw all the way down
- checked linkage and made sure the throttle was not being held open
- when i 1st started it fuel puked out of the top vents so i have now dialed the float adjustment all the way down
- i adjusted the idle mixture screws town to 1 1/2 turns on each side
