That is one stang I would buy... Ford should have added the side / window scoops like the original concept had. I think that's one spot where they really missed on the styling.

I think Ford felt they needed to replace the vent with a window for safety reasons because of the blind spot it caused. I think the vents really made the car though. As for this Mustang, I think they over did it a little for my tastes, but it's still at the point where I'd like to have it.

      John,

I've seen some '05s sitting on the lots recently with a similar vent on the window, except it's more like a louver so I guess there is still some visibility there. It definitely looks better than just the window!

I was just thinking today about what a set of Halibrands would look like on an '05. I have seen several GT's around town with an aftermarket vent window scoop and it makes them look even better. I saw a black convert a couple days ago and it almost looks like the top is chopped and is very sinister looking. I think I am giving in to Ford. God help us all if the Camaro don't come back soon!

It was too dark to show you my Pontiac pile . My neighbor has a '73 T/A all original, and a '70 T/A that was his dad's that is all original. Both are 455 cars.

Being a Ford guy, I am just comfortably waiting, seeing, reading, and deciding on what Mustang I should purchase next..Eleanor2, GT500, Saleen? Nice lineup from Ford.

Check out this cool link to choose your colors..

I'd replace the front cover, which is the only thing I don't like about it. Could select better wheels as said before also.

I would buy that. Sweet looking. How do you think Ford is going to design them selves out of that style. It must make Mustang people feel a little left out if they other styles that a fastback.

I agree 100%. The lower edge of the front cover is a little on the ricey side but not hidious like some of the import stuff Ive seen.

Soon as that money tree thing takes off or a Brinks truck wrecks in my front yard Id buy it.

I think the Eleanor styling looks way better on the newer car than the movie car. I am very sick of seeing the Eleanor craze but seeing it on the newer car looks much more fitting. It's all very modern looking and just sits better. I just hope that whoever puts that bulgy hood on there also includes a 5.4 with a supercharger...

I'm afraid I have to echo Frodo when he said "looks fair, but feels foul". Having driven an 05 and noted the low-end acoutriments as previously posted, the low-level urge I kinda had for one evaporated.

I think it looks very concept-car like and would probably stop me cold at the Jacob Javitts Auto Show, but for that same reason I also think I would feel a little ridiculous being seen getting out of it at say, the dry-cleaners or something.
