      starting my C6 IRS.

I have a 69 Camaro that I have some projects planned for this winter.
The first is a C6 rear suspension.
I have the rear suspension and the back half of a Z06 frame to build my jig from.
I'm going to modify the upper mounting points slightly to account for the narrower track.

Some pics of the rear section. It's in my old garage now, I'm in the process of building a new garage on the property so that's where the build will take place.

I have to narrow the pickup points by 6" to get it to fit in the back of the stock sheet metal. I'm going to put the stock points into my suspension program and then make changes to the pickup points to maintain proper I/C and roll centres.
I may make the camber curve a little more aggressive too, I'll have to see what the stock one looks like.

      2 questions:
      In this pic:

What connects the upper A arms to the frame?

And what is the overall width hub to hub of the rear?

      Thanks
      Scot

OK couple more, what's the width between the rear frame rails too?

      Thanks

      Sorry, had a busy winter.
I have been working on it a little bit. I have the jig built for the rear now.
The car is up on the frame table and I hope to have the frame rails cut out by next weekend.
I bought new 2 x 3 rails to attach the rear suspension to.
I need to order my rear diff this week so that I can build the mounts for that.

      Keith.

Worked on the jig a little bit tonight.
Need to secure the wheel location plate so I can get the wheel centered properly when I get it on the frame table under the car.

Hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll have the fixture built and then I can finish cutting out the frame rails and get started on fabrication on the car.

      Keith.

Are you going to use the transmission/diff out of the C6 or something like the D44 out of a gen III viper?

I use Performance Trends Suspension Analyser for my suspension program.
I always jig up the control arms before I build and run the suspension though compression and rebound.

I plan on using a Ford 9" out back.
Dutchman makes a nice centre section. It's aluminum and comes with either CV flange or U joint.
I'm going with the 930 CV joints.
I have Bilstein MDS coilovers for all four corners. They are double adjustable.
The front is going to be first gen subframe with Speed Tech uppers and the shock mount modified to accept the coil overs. This winter I will build a new front subframe using C6 front.
No time to build it for this summer.
