Reputable shop in North East or beyond

Well Ive hit a roadblock in my project and need to outsource the work to finish it up. Long story short my life is getting busier and busier and work just got alot more complicated... Ive already done a ton to the car but have a laundry list of stuff left to finish it and just wont have the time to do it. Also, Ive run into some problems with the trunk and some other issues only a body or structural guru can confirm and fix for me. Also dont have the time to dial in the suspension, brakes, etc and would rather leave it to someone who has alot more experience and TIME than I do. So what I am looking for is a GREAT shop that can take on whats left of my project, check the work Ive already done, address the issues at hand, dial it in and finish it for me. Dont mind shipping it to a place that is out of state if thats what it takes.. Guess after having the car for almost 4 years now and not driving it I am finding out that I have less and less time to finish it. Rather spend the limited time I have DRIVING it at this point in my life...

Anyone recommend a pro touring type shop in the new england area or beyond that would take this on?? Ive heard great things about SC&C, G force designs, and some others but trying to get someone that is willing to take this on. Not saying these guys wouldnt but the more I can research the better.

      Thanks in advance!

Mark, Take a look at Jake's Rod Shop. He is a site sponcer and a real good guy. Call him up and tell him what you need. He may be just what you are looking for. http://www.jakesrodshop.com/Home.html He is in Maine. I would guess you can get many references from this site.

Well Jakes Hot Rods it is... Just meet with him last night. He drove down with his trailer, discussed the game plan and off he went with the car. Seems like a great guy and got a feeling I am gonna not only be treated fair but will be very happy with the outcome. Went with him due to the fact that 1. He was fairly close to me (ma to maine), 2. Offered pick up and drop off service. 3. Stellar rep on this site. and 4. Got back to me with follow up calls and spent nearly a hour crawling under, over, inside and out of my car to check everything out and come up with only what absolutely needed to be done. I'll post pics of the before and after work as it comes but have a feeling Im gonna be more than happy!

Hey Jesse, Should have it back on Monday or Tuesday... It has come along way since you had it but still have some more to go. I will shoot some pics to you once I get it back. Basically as you know I had more than a few holes in the trunk area and where the fuel cell was and I needed to address it. Since I dont do body work I decided to have Jakes Rod Shop handle the work for me on the trunk as well as exhaust and a list of suspension and brake dialing in. Jake has alot of track experience so I figured he could dial in my air ride better than anyone. Im sure it is basic compared to what he sees on the tracks but is more than enough for my street ride. Anyways got into a time crunch and want to get it to the point where it was drivable. Once I get it back I will drive it for a couple of weeks then focus on the interior over the winter.

xlexustech... Just pm'd you... Got the car back from Jakes Rod Shop tonight... IT IS UNBELIEVABLE the work he has done putting in the trunk as well as setting up and straightening out everything in the car. It drives truly amazing. Took it for a ride at 8:00pm on wet cold NE roads with it spitting snow and it still handled amazingly well. Of course it did slip here and there but given the weather truly amazing. Cant wait to get it on the dry road to really give it a go!! I will post pics of the amazing body work and other things he did to the car. Really pays attention to the details, will not have you waste money on what you dont need and never rushes anything. Takes his time and does it right. Spent over a hour here on the drop off going over everything he did as well as suggestions on things I could do and also offered to take follow up calls on anything I may have a question or concern about. TOP NOTCH WORK AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I know you are jonesing for progress and for pics, but trust me it will all be worth it. If you give Jake the time, you will be amazed by the results! TRUST ME!

PICS TO FOLLOW once the sun comes out in New England!

Well rather than download a bunch of pics better off just giving you the link to view the album Jake put together for me. It shows the work he did along the way.... It is amazing what he did. The thing that really impressed me about Jake is that he never tried to upsell me on anything. Really tried to make the things that were already in the car work to the best of the parts ability and gave me OPTIONS along the way.. From Mild to Wild they can do it all. Anyways enough with the praise.. Ill let the pics do the talking for me.. Heres the link. Let me know what you think....

Mark, that car looks and sounds great. I remember when that was for sale way back when.

I too am using a ton of Jake's parts and can't wait to bring it all together. Feel the same way about him working with what you have and not overselling things one doesn't need.

      Enjoy the car.

Would like to add one comment... You will notice in the pics that the tubs that are in there were not the best job in the world especially on the finish part of it. JAKE DID NOT DO THAT and wanted to address it but since they were functional and did not hurt the integrity of the car structurally, I decided to spend the money elsewhere. Besides my plan is to finish off the trunk when I do the interior of the car and you will not ever see that from the outside. I realize I will probably get comments on that from some on the site but wanted to point that out.....

OK, Trying not to Go nutty here or be an ass by teasing but I will bet the stuff I have going on at JRS will blow many of you away... he is starting on my car soon and I am beyond psyched... He came to my house spent a bunch of time working with me and listening/advising on what we should do... I put emphasis we because he is working with me on this not for me... I find that really impressive in a builder... he is really going the extra mile to make sure I am actively involved comfortable and works with me on decision making...
Keep your eye out for a project double tap build thread....
