Not so green Nova

1970 Nova bone stock 230ci 3spd on the tree. Traded a 1968 Chevy II prostreet lsx swaped for this green nova straight across.

Plans for nova:
Motor is built on the engine stand 2005 lq9 6.0, Patiot Stage 3 heads, 02-up Zo6 cam, comp 7.40 pr, Fast LSXRT 102mm intake, Fast fuel rails, 80lb injectors, Aeromotive fpr, dual walbro 255, 8an feed n 6an return, Procharger D1sc LSX Transplant kit, ATI 8 rib setup 12lbs of boost on 11.2:1 compression.



Tci Th400 reverse manual valvebody, B&M 3800 stall- change in future

Just placed an order with Rich @ BMR Suspension front a-arms, front sway bar, rear torque arm suspenion for a 12bolt.

Last year this lq9 with stock 799 heads, comp cam xr281, tbss intake manifold and 92mm tb made 401rwhp and 411tq. That was infront of a th400 w/ 3600stall and 3.73 12bolt in my 67 c10.

When I ordered my Procharger with Bob@Brute Speed I told him minimum 750rwhp.

Front brakes came in the mail. Wilwood Dynalite 4piston calipers and 12.19 rotors. As for rear brakes not sure yet. Thinking about wraping the nova or the original dark green with all trim gloss black.

wire wheeled and sanded subframe. Painted with semi-gloss black. Passenger side Bmr arms went on super easy, but the driver lower is super tight. Going to take apart and spread lower arm because it will not move freely.

Send me a measurement of the arm between bushings if possible. I would like to check it with our drawing and jig. BTW the stuff looks great so far!

Had time at work so I started on the rear BMR Torque Arm install and what a headache. So I built a 1968 El Camino 12bolt 3.55 motive gears and Eaton posi. I'm ready to mount the back plate for the torque arm and the damn thing wont fit. Had to grind the center section of the 12bolt to get the bolt holes to line up. Got the bolt holes lined up and there is no studs that hold the plate to rearend (keep in mind I have NO instruction on the BMR torque arm so i'm going off pictures online). Ended up going to store and getting bolts after spending $$$ on this rear suspension

I'm selling the Patriot stage 3 heads and getting some TFS 235 with 70cc chambers so it will be back at 10 to 1 comp. Jus running 91 with 50/50 meth kit.

The 6banger is going to stay in until I blow it up... It was rebuilt and new clutch before I got the nova. I cant even sell the motor and trans for $150 on CL. When I run the brake lines I have a line lock thats getn installed and 4 stock wheels that will die

Pulled the rear suspension and cleaned the back of the nova up. BMR upper crossmember no fit.

Sorry for the delayed response I've been out sick for a few days..... There are a few things I want to address concerning the issues you are having. First thing is that you are using a A-Body rear housing which is different that the F-Body/X-Body housings in several ways. The center housing is different as it originally had upper mounts for upper control arms

The instructions will show that the hardware that comes with the kit are designed around a thicker cast aluminum cover. I could have sent you shorter bolts for the stamped steel cover you are using to avoid spending money on bolts locally. Our cover has oversized holes to avoid slight allignment issues with the bolt patterns.

Please reference page 9 of the instructions above for the proper measurements for the upper cross member. I also noticed something that may be giving you problems and that is the angle of the leaf spring perches that were welded to the A-Body housing which originally had coil spring perches. The leaf spring perches on your rear do not look to be at the correct angle in relationship the the gasket surface of the housing.

I believe another issue you possibly are contending with is the pinion placement of the A-Body and the X-body which you have.

I would suggest contacting the folks at Moser for details on the correct angle of the leaf spring perches and pinion height.
