What about rubbing in cornering?? Have you tested it? I have some 11" wide with a 275, stretched a bit, but no rubbing in hard corners. Looks dope tho!

Oh i have a 66 chevelle.. I believe we have the same frame

Never been tested its a long ways from bein done but with the springs out ive laid it as low as it will go and its tight but a fair amount of room...and with the lips rolled if it ever touched the lip wouldn't cut the tire. Before i tore it apart it had a 315/35/17 that never rubbed without having a rolled lip. Your frame is different 68-72 our the same

Bodywork looks good, wheels look really good, looks like it's coming back together, so far! Wish my GS was as far along as yours is, but I'm working on it! Keep us posted with updates (and pics)!

Its still a long ways from going back together I still need to weld the other quarter on and then its coming of the frame and the body is getting blasted and zinc coated. The reason the left quarter is shiny black is i found 2 rust free original quarters and before i welded it on i had a good friend of mine that is a excellent pdr guy remove the dents and dings so i put a quick coat of black on it to help highlight the dents..the gold is the original paint. Good luck on the G.S. I almost bought a skylark before i found the olds

I'm no expert by any means, but that car does not appear to be sitting on its own weight in a couple of those pics. Remember you still have to allow for up and down suspension travel and body roll to some extent. I have never heard of anything more than 315 fitting without out work, but my GF tells me I have selective hearing...lol

I've checked the clearance with the shocks and springs removed with rear end bottomed out to the body and there's at least 1/2 inch of clearance....I trimmed the wheel well lips down to 3/4 of a inch and rolled them as flat as possible... I think the nittos tend to run on the small side in width also. It takes some patience to roll the lips on these older thick metal cars...I couldn't get it to roll until I heated it with a torch...I wouldn't recommend it on a painted car

The tire/wheel combo is kick ass! What tire is that? What Forgeline wheel is it? I'm guessing the frame is the same as my '69 Chevelle. Thanks!

Tires are Nitto Invos, and the wheels look like they might be Forgline S03s

Looks nice! The checking up and downs not a bad idea on rubbing, but did you move the axle from the center of the axle,or one side at a time?

Any update on fitment? Or on the car overall? Nice build, I'd like to follow until completion.

I am very interested in this build as well...love the 19's in either a 335 or 345...I would love to hear feedback on drive ability ...they need to fit under the wheel well as well...I have heard of 305 18's fitting nice on a 10" wheel but not this big without notching the frame....hope to hear back soon...thanks for the wheel back spacing details

Its been over a year since the OP has even logged in here, I wouldn't expect much feedback. My advice would be to expect the unexpected. These are 40yo cars we are building and there is bound to be some inconsistency. If I were putting a 11.5" wheel and a 345 on my car I would plan on notching the frame at a minimum.

Sorry for the late response... I didn't notch the frame...I trimmed the wheel well lip down to 3/4 inch and rolled the lip n slightly stretched the quarte. I ran a 17/11 on a 315 drag radial for years with no problems. I would recommend finding a used 345 and test fit...u will definitely need to roll the lip and it takes heat and a big hammer on these old cars
