      s10 cooling system

Im doing this on a project truck that is going to be a daily driver thats a 350 with a mild cam in it. Someone stole the radiator and fan setup the night we bought the truck and it was on the trailor at our motel.

I was told I could use a 4.3 rad or a 86 305 camaro rad. Im sure what to get the electric fans from to make them work right in the truck.

Can ya help me? This is a 84 reg cab auto.

I use the stock Astro radiator for sbc swaps into those. Never had a cooling issue. I would imagine a stock Astro radiator and shroud would fit but, if you could find a 4.3 Sten set-up you would be better off.

I have pics of an 82 S-10 I did a serpentine swap in and used Spal dual 11" fans. I did have to notch the radiator support about 3/4" for clearance between the ps pulley and water pump. PM me your email and I can send you some pics. FWIW, I used a stock type aluminum replacement radiator and retained the AC too-it was a 355 with a TH350 and it would run 190 all day long.

might want to give this link a read, its a rad that sits inside the core support cost about $150 and you dont have to do any cutting, the guys over at v8s10 are pretty good, just about anything you need to know about a s10 is in that forum, as long as you use your truck as a DD or a drag truck, other then that you can find most the suspension stuff on this site

we're going to be building them for the S10 soon, after we finish the early chevelle / a-body rads.

For fans the Flex-a-lite 210 duals or new model equivalent fits the rad perfectly and doesn't require any additional work for a custom shroud (at least on a second gen). My truck spends lots of time on the rev limiter followed immediately by waiting in staging lanes with no over-heating issues (only a V6 though).

possibly may be interested. A local friend may be buying one, if he doesn't, we should talk.
