      Sanden 508 Compressor Question

So I have a Sanden 508 a/c compressor with a two groove pulley. I want to change it over to a serpentine style pulley and one of the guys at Vintage Air says I cant, I have to buy a new compressor. Does this sound right? I swear I spoke with someone a Vintage Air and they told me I could by the pulley and swap it out?

Size: 279.7 KBI did it to mine. I just went to the junkyard, found a good one on a early 90's cherokee. Bought the whole compressor but told them to charge me seperate for the pulley and the compressor. Took it home, used a sanden clutch tool and an impact to take the clutch off. Snap ring pliers to get the snap ring off. Three jaw pulley remover to remove the pulley. Then just pressed them back on to my compressor. Then snap ring back on. Took back the old compressor along with the v-groove pulley and got money back for the comp/ core back for the clutch. Of course you probably just can buy a new pulley. And of course Ive done this a few times before. Comp is not the same as yours but same procedure. This one is actually for a friends civic. His was toast and he brought me an earlier model( he got it for free) which I was able to make one good one out of the two.

Yeah that's absolutely untrue. They make serpentine pulleys for 508s.

Do a search. There's a you tube video on how to do it to a 508. Pretty easy.

I have never seen anyone selling just the pulley, either.
Have to purchase the complete clutch assy.
They are not that expensive, around $50.00.
      Check E bay.
