      Vortec headed 355

Short block has about 3hrs of run time on it, pulled it from my car and picked up the vortec heads and started running with it until I got to the point that it will not be pump gas friendly. So time to change directions and cut my loses, I have close to 6000$ into this motor and most of the reciepts. Bottom end was built buy my machine shop. Currently the motor does not have the passenger side head installed so that I can show how clean it is and that it has not been run with the new heads installed. Will be assembled when purchased so that I can give the piece of mind.

      2000$ FIRM!

      Sounds like a good build.
As an FYI to potential buyers, I had a 355 that was VERY similar except it had the 11:1 slugs and I drove it all the time on 91 and had ZERO issues with detonation. I guess the head design helps with that? Just wanted to help plug it by saying that it will prolly be fine on the street.

11:1 on 91 is impressive! My Vortec 355 is 10.55:1 and I run it on 93 with no issues - it would probably be fine 91 too, but we don't have 91 in NY. Good build! And it should be very streetable.

3 hours of run time? drag strip?

I'm interested but not at $3500....all I need is the motor and not all the other stuff.

No, It was built for my circle track car but never raced. I broke it in after building (1.5 hr) Drove it around to test clutch linkage and play with brakes around my house (1hr) Track roll in (.5hr) Then puked out a driveshaft and the car was parted... PM sent Doug
