      Fender patch panels

Question. I'm getting conflicting responses on this.

I'm ready to install the patch panel on my drivers side fender for the bird. i have heard that it is better to have the fender mounted on the car while performing this. I have also heard that it should be done while the fender is off the car.

      What do you guys suggest?

i would tack them on while fender is mounted to make sure everything lines up, might even use some small shims under patch panel mounting points so the panel doesnt become too tight (top to bottom) on you, the mounting bolts could help line you up and ensure fit. pull the panel off for final weld.
